Management Team

Cathy Brode – CEO, 3BView Cathy co-founded the company in 2005 and has more than 20 years’ experience in the IT and life sciences industry. Before setting up 3BView, Cathy was a founding member of CDC Solutions, a company which was acquired by Liquent Inc in 2003, a provider of software and services for the life sciences industry.

She was previously employed at Kinesis Systems Ltd (now part of IBM), a technology services company, as a consultant and started her career as a systems engineer in the security network systems and telecommunications departments at Plessey Research, where she managed a European research sub-project on advanced network management. Cathy holds a degree in Computer Systems from University College Cardiff.

Martin Brown – Chief Technology Officer

Before co-founding the company alongside CEO Cathy Brode, Martin formed JDI Software, a company specialising in game programming. Prior to that he worked alongside Cathy at CDC Solutions where he was responsible for UI architecture of a document management system web application for electronic regulatory publishing in the pharmaceutical industry.

Prior to CDC Martin was the principle software engineer for a pharmaceutical company RTS Thurnall plc.

Martin has a PhD from Lancaster University and graduated with a first class honours degree in Mechanical Engineering from Liverpool University.

Paul Averill – Vice President of Sales

Paul has over 25 years experience working in international high tech fast growth companies and has headed up sales teams in EMC, Oracle and Cloudmark.

Before joining 3BView, Paul was Vice President of Sales at the San Francisco based ISV Cloudmark Inc, where he led the expansion of European markets.

Alastair Walmsley - Director of Finance

Alastair is a Chartered Accountant with a broad range of financial experience at main board level in both listed and private equity backed companies. He trained with Coopers & Lybrand in Manchester and has worked with several businesses as director and advisor.

He has led several financing initiatives, as well as developing financial systems, controls and reporting procedures which allow businesses to expand rapidly.
