US law firm picks metadata cleaning solution from 3BView

3BView Ltd, a software company specialising in Information Leak Prevention solutions, has won a contract from US law firm Graybeal Jackson Haley LLP for metadata removal software.

Based just outside Seattle, Graybeal specialises in intellectual property law. It needed to protect its emails, as well as other outbound electronic communications, from the accidental leakage of information. In particular, it required a solution that would remove ‘metadata’ from electronic documents such as tracked changes created in Microsoft Word.

“We researched the metadata removal tools in the market, and decided that 3BClean was the best solution available to protect our attorneys and support staff,” said Paul F. Rusyn, Partner at Graybeal.

3BClean runs on the email server and does not require installation on each desktop or laptop PC. This makes installation and maintenance faster and easier. It also ensures metadata removal is provided for Graybeal staff when they are working remotely and accessing email via a remote laptop, PDA or Blackberry.

Graybeal decided to implement 3BClean as a “Software as a Service” (Saas) application, running on a hosted server provided by 3BView. The firm did not have to provide any additional hardware, and no software was needed on their desktops or servers, thus simplifying and speeding up installation and configuration of the system.
